A Container Freight Station (CFS) is a customs-notified place near ports where cargo is put together, taken apart, checked, and kept for a short time before being shipped or after it arrives. CFS facilities help with customs clearance, managing cargo, and making sure that goods get from the port to the consignee quickly and easily.
A CFS (Container Freight Station) is usually close to seaports and deals with both Full Container Load (FCL) and Less than Container Load (LCL) cargo. Its main jobs are to consolidate and pass customs. An ICD (Inland Container Depot) is a dry port that mostly handles FCL movements by rail and is located deeper inland. Visvasa's location in the Kandla-Tuna-Mundra corridor makes it easier to get things done than inland ICDs.
